Enjoy the temperate climate of Stanley, elevated high above the plains of northern Victoria. Bask in the gentle warmth of the early morning sun on Bloomfield’s generous verandas, which are shaded by walnut and other trees.
Pick your own cherries and berries, or buy them from local growers. Take a 10-minute drive to the well-preserved historic town of Beechworth with its many delights. Visit Myrtleford produce market on Saturday mornings then go on to wineries in the King Valley, the Buckland Valley and Rutherglen – all less than 40 minutes away. Perhaps stop for lunch at Milawa cheese factory and gallery. Meander to Myrtleford through the valley, along a road flanked by chestnut, apple and walnut orchards.
In the evening, Bloomfield’s magnificent dining room with french windows opening on to the verandas is the perfect spot for a dinner party. Afterwards, indulge in moonlight walks around Stanley.
