Sit on the north-facing veranda and soak up the warmth as soon as the sun rises. There can be white frost on the ground and you will be as warm as toast. Just enjoy the peace, tranquillity and clean mountain air.
The many tourist activities of historic Beechworth are only 10 minutes away. Or you can visit wineries in the King Valley, Buckland Valley or Rutherglen – all less than a 40-minute drive.
Have lunch at Milawa cheese factory and gallery. Drive along the Stanley to Myrtleford road through a valley with chestnut, apple and walnut orchards on each side of the road.
Take a day trip to the snow at Mount Buffalo, Mount Hotham, Dinner Plain or Falls Creek.
In the evening, sit around the log fire at Bloomfield while a roast dinner cooks in the slow-combustion oven, then savour your meal in the magnificent dining room.
